Organizational Structure - Committees
The CAC has a number of standing committees as well as
numerous ad hoc committees which have been formed to respond
to specific, usually short-term, organizational needs. All
committees welcome contributions and assistance from interested

The Conference Committee is responsible for the management
and coordination of the annual CAC conference and associated
workshop. The annual conference and workshop are held in
a different Canadian city each year, preferably alternating
between the different regions.

Objectives: Responsible for the production and publication
of the CAC Bulletin.
Activities : Continue to report on activities of interest
to the membership; incorporate news from CAPC within the
CAC Bulletin, in accordance with the new linkage by-laws.

Objectives: To promote and administer membership in the
corporation.

French Translator: Francoise Guyot
Objectives: Responsible for coordinating and editing the
translation of information submitted by the Board of Directors
for dissemination to the membership.
Activities : Due to a critical scarcity of volunteers to
undertake translation, the CAC Board of Directors approved
the hiring of a professional translator. The Chair of the
Translation Committee will edit translated text for correct
conservation terminology, and will continue to encourage
the use of both official languages by the corporation.

Objectives: To investigate and evaluate on-going training
activities and training needs of the Canadian conservation
community, and to develop new training and grant initiatives,
and co-ordinate the disbursement of grants as necessary.

The Journal of the Canadian Association for Conservation
publishes one issue annually, with all editorial, translation,
management, and production functions performed by the members
of the committee. The committee, which meets monthly to
discuss and process manuscripts, solicits the input of two
or more referees from Canada and abroad to review each paper
prior to acceptance and final editing. The committee is
accepting articles of a scientific, technological, treatment-related,
philosophical, or educational nature.

Objectives: To improve the visibility and understanding
of conservation among the general public and related professions,
and to promote effective communication within CAC.

Objectives: To provide grants for CAC members to attend
the Annual Meeting and Workshop. Funds are also available
to members to assist in the organization of training activities
for conservators and training in conservation-related fields
to raise public awareness and knowledge of conservation.
