Rosaleen Hill, Ruggles Award Recipient 2025

Rosaleen Hill is an Associate Professor in paper and photographic media in the Master of Art Conservation Program at Queen’s University. She has taught in the Conservation of Cultural Materials program at the University of Canberra and in the iSchool at the University of British Columbia. She also has extensive experience in the private sector working with many institutions, museum and archival association on preservation master plans, exhibitions, and conservation treatment. Rosaleen’s interests in conservation are wide ranging but her love of colour and the transition between 19th century handmade and machinemade paper remain constant. She often draws on comparison between textile and paper technologies to better understand paper objects.
